hello this is a test page

hey if you neocities folks are seeing this, I'm just testing design stuff! the things on this page are just placeholders. happy for you to poke around but the words and images are not gonna make sense together 😅

about the site

november 5 2024

this static site was hand-crafted with HTML, CSS, and just a touch of JavaScript. (don't look at my code.) I believe in the ad-free, independent web, which is why I'm a Neocities supporter.

Minimalist web design is kinda my jam (bill wurtz knows what I'm talking about). As are personal sites that feel unique to an individual: Amy Krouse Rosenthal (💛) and Jeff Bridges come to mind. Or you can do both. Sean does both, and is one of those people using the web in very cool ways. A good person to have in your orbit!

This site is a perpetual work in progress.

For many people, Camelot will always be Richard Burton and Julie Andrews and Robert Goulet. They think of that 1961 cast recording—and I must take a moment to say this album was an enormous success. It got a boost after the cast performed on the Ed Sullivan Show and was ultimately on the Billboard charts for 265 weeks.

Or people think of First Lady Jackie Kennedy, who, in an interview with Life after her husband's assassination, described how he liked to listen to the record before bed, and particularly loved the lines: Don't let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot.

jabberwocky: a poem by lewis carroll september 1 2024

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe. All mimsy were the borogoves and the mome raths outgrabe. "Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch. Beware the jubjub bird and shun the frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand, long time the manxome foe he sought. So rested he by the tumtum tree and stood a while in thought. And, as in uffish thought he stood, the Jabberwock, with eyes aflame, came whiffling through the tulgey wood and burbled as it came.
