What's fun about this book is the amount of nonsense in it. The science to explain the dinosaurs is crazy, the amount of graphs and charts within the text is so funny. People are fucking up left and right and it's absolutely insane, then a dinosaur eats somebody. And it all kinda works because it's supposed to be a big joke on the ego of "intellectuals". How better to illustrate that discovery at a break-neck pace is only used as an end-goal to commercial consumption by writing a book about opening up a genetically-engineered dinosaur theme park?? Buy an island, kill the locals, and let the children see the T-Rex!! The helicopter doesn't have proper seatbelts!!

I obviously loved this book. I found it a bit jarring when the deeply detailed, scientific descriptions pivoted directly to dinosaur attacks, but that’s science, baby. Great plot. Great action. Needed more Ellie Sattler.
