soundtracks

Sabrina (1995) – this is one of those cases where I like the remake better than the original. that has partly to do with the incredibly romantic score by John Williams.

The Red Strings Club – this entire soundtrack by fingerspit is excellent, but the title track has this wonderful atmosphere: piano and rain. (the game is great too, btw. a neon cyberpunk dream in pixels. highly recommend.)

Beginners (2010) – my favourite Mike Mills film also has one of my favourite soundtracks. Mills has said the soundtrack was inspired by his parent's record collection—classical music on his dad's side, ragtime and jazz on his mom's. plus, the introspective score by Dave Palmer, Roger Niell, and Brian Reitzel.
